Step 1
Connect the broadband Internet modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the modem Internet port and the other end into the computer Ethernet port.
Step 2
Connect the Broadband modem to the Linksys Wireless G router's 'Internet' port using an Ethernet cable. Connect the computer to one of the Linksys router's four Ethernet ports using another Ethernet cable.

Plug the router into the power outlet. Turn on the router and modem, and make sure the all LED lights on the front of each device are lit. Turn on the computer and launch the Internet browser.

Enter 'http://192.168.1.1' (without the quotations marks) into the browser's address bar, and press 'Enter.' The Linksys setup page will display.

Enter 'admin' in the user name and password fields. Then click 'OK.'

Look for the 'Local IP Address' on the router setup page. Change the address to '19216821' and click 'Save Settings.'

Click the 'DHCP Renew' button. Then enter the address 'http://192.168.2.1' into the address bar again.
Step 8
Select the 'Status' tab and verify that numbers are listed after the 'IP Address.' If there are numbers, the computer can access the Internet. If there are only zeros listed, follow the instructions in the next steps.

Click the 'DHCP Release' button, then click 'DHCP Renew.'

Enter the following address into the browser's address bar again: http://192.168.2.1.
Step 11
Locate the 'Internet Connection Type' on the web-based setup page again. Choose 'PPoE' on the drop-down menu.
